The Why
YETI Custom Shop was missing chances to secure major custom orders from enterprise customers because of factory floor limitations. We aimed to swap a paper-driven process with software in order to modernize and scale production.
Discovery
Reviewed manufacturing software and windows based applications and found the following trends:
Skeuomorphic buttons
Data heavy
Status indicators
Color assignments
Usability
Tested wireframes with operators to determine the placement of panels, buttons, and status indicators. The prototype was tested to validate flows.
Results
The factory went from handling 10 products to over 80 products at once
Increased the daily amount of customized drinkware
Secured bulk orders from enterprise customers
